If you've read in the news that manufacturing is going to make a comeback in the U.S., then you might be leaping for joy right now! But keep in mind that there's a catch to this phenomenon - there aren't many younger workers who are trained for employment in manufacturing these days.
Perhaps it's because so many jobs have been sent overseas...many college-age students simply don't feel there's much of a future in manufacturing. So if manufacturing jobs DO increase soon, who will fill them? This reality has created a "gap in manufacturing skills" that can only be filled if more students will consider manufacturing skills when choosing a college or tech school course of study.
