Constant Horsepower AC Motors

A constant horsepower AC motor is one that requires high torque at low speeds and vice versa, while the horsepower stays the same during operation.  The Blue Max series of motors by Marathon Electric features the 2000 Wide Constant Horsepower motor with 2000:1 CT.  Multiple enclosure options are available for these, including TENV, TEBC and DPFV enclosures.  These AC motors are totally enclosed from 5 HP through 350 HP, and also drip-proof from 25 HP through 450 HP.

With Class F insulation, the motors have unlimited lead length between the motor and drive.  Other features include a 125 percent overload capacity to maximum constant horsepower RPM, one minute overload at 150 percent of the rated torque below the base speed, and up to four times the base speed, constant horsepower.
