With industrial AC motors, it's sometimes necessary to control speed, torque and start-up voltage.  But what about when it's time to stop the motor?  A high power, high speed motor has a rotor that continues to spin and spin long after the power is cut off.  DC injection braking provides a great solution if you need to stop the motor suddenly, whether for emergency braking or to decrease downtime.
