Non-Contact Loop Control with Carotron Sensors

There are a number of applications that might require material to be handled and/or transported with little or no contact.  Although zone tension control is still necessary and the web must still be processed as usual, the no-contact goal can be achieved using non-contact loop control.  This can be achieved using two methods.  One is through the use of ultrasonic loop control, which controls the web material using target distance, target density, or shape, size and proximity detection. The second is the use of proximity or optical detection.  The types of sensors available include capacitive proximity sensors and photo-electric sensors. These can detect if the material is absent or present during the web handling process.
